
Dr. Paulina Finak BPsy, MS.Sc (O), PhD
MSLP Program Chair and Assistant Professor, School of Rehabilitation ScienceDr. Finak is a researcher and speech-language pathologist with thirty years of clinical experience working with children and youth who have speech and motor impairments. She previously worked as a Clinical Coordinator for an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team at the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre/CHEO, where her goal was to provide seamless interdisciplinary services to families, both in the clinic and in the community. Dr. Finak's research interest is to understand how various environmental factors may support literacy for children, youth, and adults with speech and motor impairments who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She is also interested in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in AAC for written and face-to-face communication. Dr. Finak is currently a member of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC) Canada executive board.
