Assistant Professor, School of Rehabilitation ScienceDr. Reggin is an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science. She obtained a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2024 with a focus on the development of abstract language in children and the role of community-based prevention and promotion activities to foster language development in young children. She earned a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of British Columbia in 2002, specializing in the role of working memory in children diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). Dr. Reggin is a speech-language pathologist with nearly a decade of clinical experience working with children and families in Calgary-area schools, followed by a research career focused on early language and literacy development. Her research examines how language and cognitive skills (memory, attention, social skills) interact across childhood, and how caregiver–child interactions and community-based interventions can promote optimal developmental outcomes. Guided by principles of knowledge mobilization and community partnership, her work bridges research, practice, and policy to support families and improve access to evidence-based early interventions.
