Carrie is an Occupational Therapist and Instructor at the School of Rehabilitation Science. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice and health professions education, she has taught across Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Interprofessional Education programs at both McMaster University and the University of Saskatchewan. Her work includes curriculum development, accreditation, educational leadership, and the design of inclusive, evidence-informed learning experiences.
Recognized by students and colleagues for creating supportive and engaging learning environments, Carrie is passionate about fostering reflection, belonging, and professional growth in future health professionals. She is currently completing a PhD in Education with a focus on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, where her work explores student partnerships, anti-oppressive pedagogy, and inclusive curriculum design.
Clinically, Carrie has extensive experience working with older adults and individuals living with chronic and progressive conditions, with particular interests in complex wheelchair seating, pressure injury prevention, and occupational engagement.
Outside of work, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family at their cabin near Waskesiu.
